Generally, ties are cut by placing the fabric at a 45-degree bias to the warp direction, so if the fabric width is narrow, there will be many seams, making it inefficient. Therefore, it is not common to make ties from kimono fabric. However, MIZEN pondered whether it could create kimono fabric ties that could be utilized by more people. As a result, to prove that it is tailored from a kimono, MIZEN decided to place a diagonal cut (slash) as a seam in the most visible area, and thus announced the MIZEN tie (trademark registered). This also expresses MIZEN's philosophy, which prioritizes craftsmanship, by wanting to introduce kimonos, the fruit of handiwork, to the world as ties.
