MIZEN is a project to build a luxury brand in which craftsmen who are responsible for traditional Japanese techniques play a leading role, based on the philosophy that "luxury is the feeling of connection between people."
By designing Japanese traditional techniques in a way that suits modern lifestyles and proposing them not only to Japan but also to the whole world, we aim to raise the status of highly skilled craftsmen and promote the sustainability of the industry. We aim to raise it.
In August 2023, MIZEN will produce a collaboration between Omi Chijimi in Shiga Prefecture and ARLNATA , a former designer of " Hermès " who makes clothes from cloth such as high-end pongee.
We will also present clothes tailored using the original pattern created for the project, Omi Chijimi MIZEN BLUE “Katsu” ~SHO~ “Deep”.

A wet climate is necessary to make textiles, especially hemp, which is susceptible to drying and easily cuts.
Lake Biwa is located in the Omi region, and along with the topography of a basin, moderate humidity is maintained, making it a production area for hemp textiles. Chijimi processing is the key to finishing the hemp fabric woven in the moist climate of the Omi Basin. Omi Chijimi is the only finishing technique in which craftsmen knead the fabric, expressing the unique uneven shape of "shibo" and producing the refreshing feeling of Omi Chijimi.
